TEES TRAINING PROVIDER INVESTS IN NEW HQ AS IT EXPANDS ACROSS UK

A £1.2m investment in new premises is ensuring that a fast-growing Tees Valley training provider continues to expand across the UK and lead the way in the highly competitive market of skills development.

CableCom Training Ltd is building a new Training Centre on Stockton’s Preston Farm Industrial Estate that is three times the size of its current office and will lead to the creation of around six new jobs.  The current 11-strong core team, backed by a bank of up to 40 skilled trainers and assessors, has already been strengthened by the addition of two administration posts and a Skills 4 Life specialist.

Started by Clive Donnison, Roy Fraser and Sean Ratchford in 2000, CableCom already wins contracts around the UK in competition with some of the country’s biggest companies.  It provides training for clients in a wide range of sectors including telecommunications, waste management, security, driver CPC, management, transportation, including the fast-growing taxi market, teaching and health and safety.

CableCom has also developed a sought-after safety-passport scheme for the niche ports and shipping sector and works in partnership with Gateshead & Stockton Riverside Colleges.  Training courses for the unemployed and ex-offenders, supported by government funding, are run twice weekly.

    • The latest expansion comes after the company attracted the attention of the MAP Group UK, one of the country’s leading telecommunications consortiums who have invested in CableCom. The company is now set to deliver all training for MAP Group UK: http://www.mapgroupuk.com/
