On successful completion of this course you will receive unit accreditation in the Learning and Development NVQs at Level 3. The courses are accredited by Edexcel. 

Increasingly individuals are being required to undertake the role of an assessor within the workplace. This course not only enables you to gain a valid qualification in this area but also to develop a greater understanding of the process and methods of assessment. The courses cover all the specifications required to satisfy unit A1.

Who can take this qualification?
You must be in a position where you can generate evidence to meet the requirements of the course. This involves having two candidates who are seeking to achieve an NVQ.  We will provide you with the support of a qualified internal verifier.   

How does this qualification improve my career prospects?
These awards are vital for anyone working in the areas of competence-based assessment and are now a requirement of most awarding bodies and employers in this field.  When you have successfully completed this course there are numerous opportunities for further study. You can use these Units towards achieving an award in the Learning and Development NVQs at Level 3.

What does it involve?
For students undertaking these courses there is an initial one-day training session that will introduce the principles and processes of good assessment practice. You will be required to generate a portfolio of evidence that acts as an assessment vehicle through which you will demonstrate competence.

This course is designed to develop your competence-based assessment skills, enabling you to use a variety of assessment methods. A1 involves assessing two candidates by observation and at least three other assessment methods.

How long will it take?
The duration of the course depends on you; however this usually takes between 10 and 52 weeks. It can be studied in a flexible way to suit you.

This course is designed to develop your competence-based verification skills.  On successful completion of this course you will receive unit accreditation at NVQ Level 4. The course is accredited by Edexcel.

Who can take this qualification?
You must be in a position where you can generate evidence to meet the requirements of the qualification. This involves working with two NVQ assessors who are assessing candidates who are working towards the achievement of an NVQ award. We will provide you with the support of a qualified internal verifier.
